Spread A Smile
Spread a Smile brings joy and laughter to seriously ill and hospitalised children and their families during long hospital stays. Every year they spread smiles to thousands of children and teenagers and their families through our hospital visits, outings and events and art initiatives. Their impact is far greater than a smile as they strive to make a real and positive difference to young lives at the most challenging of times.
Through in-person and virtual visits, with renowned entertainers – from magicians to face-painters, musicians to therapy dogs – moments of distraction and excitement are generated, helping young patients and their families to face their significant health challenges with optimism and positivity.
In 2023-24, Spread A Smile will deliver over 12,000 in-person bedside visits and over 2,000 virtual visits, in partnership with 27 hospitals and two hospice partners.
